Ultraportable – Sony Vaio X505
Sunday, December 11, 2004
Well here is a new notebook, the thin and light Sony Vaio X505, that is clearly aimed at the Louis Vuitton crowd as well as the busy executive who needs to look stylish and busy.
The successor to Sony’s Vaio 505 is the X505, the X is for extreme, you know, like snow boarding, although the jury is still out on how many top executives try to catch some “Sweet Air” at the moments. I’m sure they don’t have this razor thin, uber-cool notebook with them when they do.
At only 9.7mm thick this is a seriously flat notebook, and weighing in at a paltry 825 grams, it’s not going to put the shoulder out when carrying it around the world.
It’s got the tech specs as well, with a 1ghz Centrino processor all the wireless stuff you could ever need. It comes at a price you would expect for something that looks this good.
That’s right, budding Gordon Gecko’s can pick up this Sony X505 laptop for under $3000.
