One Tenth Of Online Shoppers Own Netbooks

According to a recent Pricegrabber.com consumer report which focused on netbook and SSD trends, netbooks are doing well and here to stay.

We’ve been hearing a lot of back and forth about netbooks, with most industry leaders maintaining that they are harming the industry and a growing number of other experts and commentators who are defending its honor. Most recently, NVidia CEO Jen-Hsun Huang dissed the form factor, calling them “a low-cost PC that doesn’t work that well”.

However, the information from pigs can’t fly? That’s crazy talk. In Intel’s country club, such talk is banned.

Interestingly, the report also indicated that consumers know about and desire SSDs, but are wary of the high price and are waiting for it to catch up a little to HDD prices. That sounds pretty reasonable. I guess the moral of the story is, consumers can actually be expected to think reasonably. Who’d have thought?
