HiVision Introduces miniNote Laptop
HiVision has introduced a laptop called the miniNote, and it costs a mere $98.
This laptop has a MIPS CPU, which will only allow Linux to be run as the OS. The laptop also sports WiFi, !GB SSD, 3 USB ports, SDHC card slot, Ethernet, voice-chat (internal microphone?), audio in/out, Skype, Firefox, and Abiword. The laptop will run some form of Linux, but there’s no mention of any distro.
The notebook is meant to be a very low-price option for those who only need to surf the web and write papers, and for kids who are more apt to break the device.
