Glacier Computer Releases Linux for Everest

The industrial Everest computer can now run two different versions of Linux.

The Everest industrial computer is now shipping with Linux. There will be two distro options – lGel or Fedora.

The machine is designed to be used in harsh environments, with wet, unstable conditions at all temperatures. It comes with a color touchscreen for ease of use.

‘Adding Linux to our operating system offerings expands the flexibility and application potential of our Everest unit,’ says Don Berch, Sales Manager for Glacier Computer.

With Linux, the machine will need fewer upgrades, the software will be cheaper, and the web browsing options will be increased.

With the introduction of Linux, the Everest can now run three operating systems – Linux, XP, and embedded XP.
